Homework
I try to keep homework at a minimum as best as possible; with that said, I expect full participation and effort during class time. Homework in all classes are due at the end of the period. Each class period will have a designated spot to turn in homework…..as long as I have your assignment by the end of the day you’re good.
Homework Assignments
There will be at least one homework assignment a week. Every other week the homework that will be assigned will be an optional assignment that students can complete. These assignments will be assigned on Mondays and due on Wednesday (typically). These assignments will alternate with regular or required homework assignments. The benefit to completing the optional homework is that students will be able to further gain more points in the grade book, this avoids the need for extra credit, and it will also provide them with extra study materials for tests.
Late Work
1 day late = loss of a letter grade (High of B)
2 days late = loss of a letter grade (High of C)
3 days late = loss of a letter grade (High of D)
4 days late = failing grade on the assignment
Make-Up Work Policy
If you miss a day(s) you are allowed to make up the assignment from the day(s) absent. All hand-outs from class will be kept in file folders in the right corner of the classroom and daily assignments will be logged on each class subject’s page. The procedure for making up work is to first come to class, grab any handouts from the day missed, ask a neighbor for directions, and then ask me if you have any further questions.
Classroom Technology
Class Blog
Our classroom blog will be the vehicle that drives majority of the technology in our classroom. Our blog will serve as a daily newsletter that will keep parents, students, and teachers informed about the current happenings in class including: experiments, projects, deadlines, assignments, and of course school news. Lastly, our blog will host a variety of resources that are available to parents, teachers, and students that will be further explained as the school year progresses.

Your blog set up is amazing. It is so organized and easy to navigate through. Your blog is exceptional and if I was a student in your class, I know that I would get a lot out of this! I am in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class and we were assigned to study your blog in depth. Further thoughts of mine will be available later today. Feel free to read them on my blog!

Mr. McClung,
I am also a student in Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama. Your blog is awesome! I love how you have so much on there for parents to be involved. Your rules and guidelines are different and get the students involved! I think your penalties for homework is very reasonable because the students can work on it during class and you keep it to a minimum. I will be writing a summary about your blog on mine if you would like to check it out. Click Here

I am a student at the University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange’s class. I agree with the class blog as a way of getting others involved with what is going on in the class. The homework grade items can be a little tough for some students but other than that it is set up great for the students.
